Better Together

A room where
people actually
get connected.

Most membership communities give you a directory and hope. You browse a list of strangers, message nobody, and quietly stop showing up. This works the other way round: you tell us what you can offer and what you actually need, and a person who knows the room decides who should meet.

Why directories don't work

Because what you can give and what you need are not the same kind of information, and a directory only holds one of them.

What you give — public

This works for you

“I know most of the Detroit retail landlords.” You want that seen. Publishing it costs you nothing and might bring you something.

What you need — private

This costs you something to say

“I am raising because I am short.” Nobody posts that on a public profile. So on every other platform it goes unsaid — and it is the half that would have got you help.

So here, what you need is never published. Not in a directory, not to other members, not in a feed. It goes to one curator. If they make an introduction, the other person is told the category — never your words.

How it works

  1. You answer two questions

What you can offer, and what you need. Four short screens, and the second one is prefilled if we already know you.

  2. The room gets searched, not browsed

Your need is checked against everything anyone has ever offered — including people who joined months before you, and people who join later.

  3. A person decides

Every possible introduction goes to a curator with a plain-language reason attached. They approve it or they don't. Nothing is automatic.

  4. You hear from a human, or you don't hear at all

No digest, no feed, no notifications. If nothing good comes up, nothing arrives. That is the point.

Ready?

It takes about ninety seconds.

Join Better Together

This is a working beta. Your answers are stored, your need stays private, and nothing is sent to you automatically. You can ask to be removed at any time and the record is marked withdrawn, not quietly deleted — an introduction already made is a fact about the other person too.
